Salimo Abdula says business confederation strategy is aligned with the CPLP

After being re-elected for another four years as president of the Business Confederation of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CE-CPLP), Salimo Abdula this Wednesday attended a meeting with Ambassador Ribeiro Teles, Executive Secretary of the CPLP, in Lisbon, the first since both assumed their positions last year.

Abdula said that the meeting was very fruitful and aligned with the success of organisations in the Lusophone space.

“I realise that everything is taken care of to continue the work of our organisations for the promotion and development of business in the Portuguese-speaking world,” he said.

The president of the CPLP once again reiterated the need for the free movement of people, goods and capital between CPLP countries.

Ribeiro Teles congratulated Salimo Abdula on his re-election, and also supported closer commercial relations in the CPLP.

Members of the Executive Committee of the EC-CPLP, including the vice-presidents João Reis, Mário Costa and Mário Simões and the secretary general, José Lobato, were also present at the meeting.

The first CPLP Economic Conference was held in May 2018 in Maputo. The second one is scheduled for the third quarter of 2019 in Portugal.
